George bought 40 acres from the BLM. The land was in Township 4 North, Range 1 West, Section 13 situated in Ingham County, Michigan. [BLM #6598]

1850:
George was farming in Meridian Township, Ingham County, Michigan. [census-Mich]

May 8, 1862:
George and Elizabeth sold for $1000 Block Number 4 in Marysville, California. [YC deed 15:525-6]

September 21, 1863:
George sold for $150 to his wife Elizabeth two pieces of land containing 200 acres commonly known as Jackson Leanham's or Negro Jack's Ranch in Yuba County, California. [YC deed 16:699-700]
