January 14, 1876:
About nine o'clock on a winter night at Spelling School near Buffalo, Dallas County, Missouri, Beverly was involved in a fight with Frank Coffer. When Beverly's brother Monroe attempted to prevent Frank's brother Elbert from interferring, Elbert repeatedly stabbed Monroe. [PenApp#808850]
