January 14, 1876:
Marion signed an affidavit for his brother, Monroe, describing the stabbing incident that took place on this night. [Pen App #808850]

1880:
Marion was farming in Benton Township, Dallas County, Missouri with his wife, son Beverly and newly born baby, James.

1900:
Marion owned a mortgaged farm in Osage Township, Labette County, Kansas. His sons Beverly, Arthur and Alva were working on the farm and his daughters Gertie and Ethel were attending school. [census-Kan]
