1855: Thomson and his two brothers James
and Perry moved their families to Alabama. [NA -

1860: Thomson was a farmer and living in
Cherokee County, Alabama. [census-Ala]
March 3, 1862: Thomson enlisted at
Gladstone, Cherokee County, Alabama in Company A, 31st Alabama Infantry for 3
years or the duration of the war. [NA - Mil Rec]
1870: Thomson's widow Cynthia was living
in Township 12, Range 7 East of Etowa County, Alabama. The value of her real
property was $200 and personal property was $150. [census-Ala]
July 16, 1878 and August 19, 1878: Cynthia
(as trustee for Lena and John) and her daughters, Mary and Elizabeth appointed
Robert Macbeth as their attorney to collect their share of James Vanderford's (2032) estate in Union County, South

August 1878: Cynthia received $22.50 from
her father-in-law's estate. Mary and Elizabeth both received $9.
