April 6, 1731: William bought from Edward
Wright, Jr. 47 acres of land called Brotherhood (near Fox Hill) for 2000 pounds

December 29, 1731: William's wife Rebecca
was left 20 shillings in the will of James Countiss (her father).

1734: William paid taxes on 56 3/4 acres
of Fox Hill (2 shillings, 3 1/2 pence) and on 47 acres of Brotherhood (1
shilling, 10 1/2 pence). [QA debt book, pg. 70]
August 26, 1740: William bought from
William and Anne Bishop 85 acres of Fox Hill for 6000 pounds of tobacco.

June 3, 1745: William's will left his
estate to his wife Rebecca to be maintained for his sons John and James. The
will was witnessed by William Vanderford, Jr. and Charles Vanderford.

1747: In William's name Rebecca paid the
taxes of 3.5 1/2 shillings on 85 acres of Fox Hill and 1.10 1/2 shillings on 47
